Meet The Sheng Works Team
The Sheng Works team is here to welcome and support you on your health journey, whatever that may look like for you. The beauty of Chinese medicine is our capacity to look at your health through a different lens and assess your WHOLE health story, make sense of it and reinterpret it with a fresh view and understanding.
Health and healing come from self-awareness and understanding (and often with a good dose of pins and herbs!)
Need to make sense of your health story? Book a consult with us to get started on your path to understanding.
All our Acupuncturists are AHPRA Registered Practitioners with extensive qualifications in Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine as well as hold extra trainings in our other special interests.
Meet Mandy Gratzer, Director
An old profession at a young age…
Hi I’m Mandy!
And I’m the owner here at Sheng Works Chinese Medicine.
At the age of 18, I moved from Kununurra to Perth to study an Advanced Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Perth Academy of Natural Therapies. After graduation, I promptly travelled to Hang Zhou, China where I completed an Internship under the supervision of numerous dual trained Doctors at the Hang Zhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (and may have eaten a chicken foot or two!). This provided the best opportunity for bringing together the knowledge of the course in the most idyllic setting; laying the foundation for melding the theory and practice together. The Hang Zhou Hospital integrates TCM and mainstream Western medicine, allowing all interns the experience of working together for the greater good of the patient. As a result, this provided me with the knowledge and experience to work holistically alongside standard Western health practices here in Australia.
Upon completion, I moved to Darwin (my original home town), in order to set up a clinic in a town that I loved.
After building a strong client base in Darwin, in 2007 an idea to share Chinese Medicine far and wide saw me take my services to rural areas, developing regular clinics in Katherine & Kununurra. Those clinics ran for six years assisting 100’s of rural residents to achieve better health outcomes otherwise not available to them. I’m so proud to have been in a position to provide that service.
Making the move to Perth in August 2016, it is still of great importance to me, to share Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine with my community and I really love making my mark on the Maylands; and greater City of Bayswater family & surrounds’ residents.
I serve on the WA State Committee of the Australian Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Association and have spent the past 3 years establishing the Acupuncturists Biz Hub, running the Business of Practice Conference for Acupuncturists and building a mentorship program to support the next generation of acupuncturists with a course designed to help guide them through the beginnings of practice, titled A Guide to Setting up Clinic.

About Ethan Laugharn-Davies
Ethan fell into the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine rather unexpectedly and loved it so much that he has made it his life’s work! Nathan is very passionate about the art of TCM and Acupuncture. This modality and the philosophy interweaved through TCM just fascinate him deeply. Specifically with its simplicity and the way it completely partners with and works with the innate intelligence and self-healing aspect of the human body. It very much is a holistic medicine.
And with that, he sees one of the most important roles he plays as a practitioner is bringing kindness to each client he is treating. In this kindness space, there is complete non-judgment, tenderness, empathy, respect & simple friendliness.
He has a special interest in digestive health, stress and diet and nutrition.
Ethan is available for treatment on Mondays and select Saturdays.
